What is the Myers Briggs Test?

The Myers Briggs test or Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of the most widely used psychological tools to help people understand how they perceive the world and make decisions. Understanding your personality type and can be very helpful in understanding how you negotiate tasks and relationships in both the work and home settings. The process includes undertaking an official questionnaire in order to understand which of the four categories you most align to: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, judging or perceiving. The next steps would then be to take one letter from each of the categories to produce a four-letter result, like ENFJ or INTP. Once you understand your type, an exploratory session is held to help you to understand the implications of type for you at a personal level.

The purpose of understanding more about your personality type is to help you to understand yourself better. When you know what motivates and energizes you, it helps you to be able to negotiate relationships and opportunities from an informed and more insightful position. Being able to recognize your own patterns will help you negotiate the world around you more effectively, in a team setting, if you are all aware of your personality types it can really help improve the way you work and communicate together as a team.
